Direct Four WD Awareness is a Registered Training Organisation (National Provider Number: 7024) set up specifically to deliver the Nationally Recognised, Competency Based Four Wheel Drive Training Programs. The courses we offer are from the Australian National Four Wheel Drive Council Inc. These include:

Drive and Recover a 4WD vehicle (SISODRV302A)
Drive a 4wd vehicle in difficult terrain. (SISODRV404A)
Co-ordinate recovery of a 4wd vehicles. (SISODRV405A)

Employers need to consider carefully their responsibilities to provide the approved training in safe and proper handling of Four Wheel Drive vehicles.

Competency based training is now recognised as the best way to ensure that the trainee has gained the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to execute himself or herself and the vehicle in the appropriate manner when employment necessitates remote area travel.

During the course both the vehicles, the equipment provided in them are checked for there suitably to the area they are allocated. Vehicle & equipment check lists are provided. Suitable equipment can also be supplied.

Appropriate Communications Systems are discussed, with cost and reliability in mind. 'Contingency Plans' developed by Companies and Organizations are reviewed for their suitability to the areas in which staff are required to travel.
