Day One: Depart Alice Springs at 8:00am heading for the Plenty Highway with our destination being Jervois the last refuel before we return on Wednesday next week. After re-fuelling, we then turn off the Plenty Highway headings for the Hay River. On reaching the Hay we turn in a South south-easterly direction, camping with Lindsay Bookie at the Batton Hill Camp. Day Two: Today we head toward Lake Caroline where we reflect on the diary of Charles Winnecke and wonder in amazement at how he traveled this area on camels over 100 years ago. We pass a bore where we can replenish our water supplyif necessary. This is done by lowering a small container down the hole to retrieve this precious liquid. Camp and look around Lake Caroline, plenty of evidence of habitation years long past.
