Tagalong with Jol: The Ultimate Simpson Desert Trip
Join Jol for a unique escorted trip through the Simpson Desert this August/September.
Part One: Alice to Birdsville Jol’s leaving Alice 28th August to see the last day of the Birdsville Cup. Travelling via Tobermorey, Bedourie and Boulia.
Part Two: Birdsville to Alice This tag along will start Sunday 3rd September from Birdsville and head for Big Red, arriving at Eyre Creek that day. You will then follow the Madigan Line to Camp 17. Then north to look for a unique and rarely sighted parrot in the south East corner of the NT. Then to Lake Caroline and up along the Hay River Track to Batton Hill Camp and back to Alice. Some people might want to head east from Batton Camp to Tobermorey and on into Qld. Expect to arrive Batton Hill Camp Sunday 10th.
Why would you do this trip?
Jol pioneered the Hay River Track a decade ago. It is now a ‘must do’ for 4 wheel drivers heading west from Birdsville towards the Center. No one knows this part of Australia better than Jol. You will get insights about history, flora, fauna and dreaming unavailable anywhere else.
